Alan Foy graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone in 2002 as a Fine Artist and Oil painter.
Now Edinburgh based he creates from his studio, whether the subject is portraiture, figurative, still life, abstract, urban or rural, the underlying inspiration is the relationship people have with places or spaces they inhabit.
He aims to evoke a mood, capturing both atmosphere and those feelings of familiarity and nostalgia.
