VENUE 4 - Shelagh Boyle, 30 Maryfield

Vitreous Enamel on Copper

Shelagh Boyle works with vitreous enamel on copper, creating small, layered artworks rich in texture and colour. Each piece is built up through multiple firings in a kiln, using a combination of sifted and hand-painted enamel powders to develop depth and detail.

Inspired by the changing Scottish landscape, Shelagh draws particular influence from trees, ploughed fields, and the shifting moods of the seasons.

Her work has been exhibited at the Velvet Easel Gallery in Portobello and selected for the Royal Scottish Academy’s Annual Exhibition in 2014–2016, 2019–2020, and 2022.
