Learn To Repair Your Garments
Edinburgh Street Stitchers have since April 2022 been out mending in public once a month between April and October around the city, usually in parks, to combat fast fashion. We take our camping chairs with banners on the back with the slogan ‘Stitch It Don’t Ditch It”, in line with the global street stitching movement. We encourage the public to bring along garments that they want to learn how to repair and we teach them the techniques needed. We also tell people where they can find sewing and mending classes across the city and direct them to online resources.
