Heraldic Art & Calligraphy

Clare trained at Reigate School of Art in Surrey.

I am one of the team of artists in the Court of the Lord Lyon in Edinburgh where we write and paint legal Grants and Matriculations of Arms.

I work mostly in gouache and watercolour on calf skin vellum or watercolour paper. As well as my heraldic work I take commissions for handpainted illuminated initial letters for giving as wedding, anniversary or birthday gifts. Happy to consider calligraphy commissions, depending on work schedule.
