VENUE 32 - Hamish Kallin, 1 Regent Place

Hamish Draws in Back Ink

Hamish Kallin draws in black on white using fine lines and sharp contrasts. Sometimes he makes prints too!

Hamish has been drawing since he was a wee boy, and never stopped. He usually works with black ink on white paper, fine nibs and technical pens, producing work that is detailed but also inspired by the striking contrasts of 20th century woodcuts. His work tends to feature buildings and sometimes people, but each year he does new work for the Colony of Artists so who knows what will come up? He then uses bits of his drawings to create colourful and arresting risograph posters.

Hamish has exhibited at the Colony of Artists every year since 2018, and has exhibited at Burgh House (London) and Babka (Tollcross).
