We continue our local history talks programme with an exploration of how 19th-century industrialisation — and the arrival of the railways — transformed the Abbeyhill area, shaping both the landscape and the lives of its residents. Hetty Lancaster is a local historian with a special interest in the city's social and urban history. Actively involved in Edinburgh's heritage sector, she offers walks and talks to individuals and groups interested in discovering more about the city's past through her business Hetty's History Walks: Edinburgh Uncovered. Walking Tours will be available after the talk.

Space may be limited – please arrive early! Light refreshments available from 9.30am.
